Happy Sweet or “Sweet Happiness” is a story full of values created by Llorenç Witty, who often performs it in a theatrical way in schools and libraries.
It tells the journey to happiness of Bob, a boy who wants to be happy. But he realizes that he doesn't want to be happy just for a while, but always. He tries football, but since he sometimes loses, he decides to look for another source: sweets! The more, the better!
In his search, he meets a wise man who offers him magical glasses of consciousness to see the "before and after" of things... and suggests that he seek happiness within himself.
Will Bob be able to understand this message?
Values conveyed by the story
Critical thinking
Pleasure vs. full and lasting happiness
Sharing vs. competing
Inner peace, acceptance, patience
Integral mindfulness
Healthy eating vs. fast food and sugar
Prevention of addictive behaviors
Why is it an enriching experience for children?
Through a theatrical narrative full of physical-emotional expression with humor, the audience experiences Bob's emotional states up close, connecting with him and identifying with similar situations.
The staging allows children to not only listen to the story, but also experience it firsthand, feeling the emotions and learning vital lessons in a fun and memorable way.
The great lessons of "Sweet Happiness"
📍 Lesson 1: Changing Perspective – Interdependence and Ecodependence
One rainy Sunday, Bob wanted to play in the park, but the rain made him angry. Everything changes when he finds a wise man walking happily in the rain. He leaves him a pair of magical invisible glasses that only work if he takes three deep breaths. By doing so, Bob begins to see how the water reaches the rivers, nourishes the trees and they provide him with oxygen to breathe. Suddenly, the rain no longer seems like a problem, but a gift from nature.
🏀 Lesson 2: Competing doesn't always make us happy
The next day, at school, Bob plays a football game. When he wins, he is happy, but when he loses, he ends up sad and angry. Without realizing it, he has forgotten his magic glasses...
🍬 Lesson 3: The sweet inside – Friendship
Bob thinks the solution is to eat sweets: the more the merrier! But he discovers that the candies run out too quickly and even the cakes don't last long. In his obsession, he rejects his friend to eat all by himself... until he feels bad and collapses. Then his friend comes back and helps him. At that moment, Bob realizes that the real sweet is friendship.
🤝 Lesson 4: Sharing multiplies happiness
Bob decides to share his last cake – an organic carrot cake – with his friend. The friend only wants a small piece, because he knows that the satisfaction of sharing lasts longer than any treat.
